George D. LeMaitre, MD, F.A.C.S.
Scientific Advisory Board Chairman

Dr. LeMaitre is the founder of LeMaitre Vascular and sits on the company’s Board of Directors. He is named inventor on several patents and serves as medical consultant and advisor for the company in evaluating new products, conducting clinical studies, and serving as a liaison with physicians. He also performs clinical training for sales representatives and other staff.

Dr. LeMaitre retired from practicing general and vascular surgery in 1997. He is a clinical instructor in surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine where he received his medical degree. He trained in surgery at New England Medical Center, Hartford Hospital, and the Carney Hospital. He served as Chief of Surgery at Lawrence (MA) General Hospital and President of the medical staff of Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Massachusetts.

He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, American College of Angiology, New England Vascular Society, Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, and Eastern Vascular Society among others. He has published numerous medical articles, authored three books, and is a frequent lecturer on both medical and non-medical topics.

Frank J Criado, MD, F.A.C.S., F.S.V.M.B.
Dr. Frank Criado is the Chief of Vascular Surgery and Director of Vascular Intervention at the Union Memorial Hospital-MedStar Health in Baltimore, Maryland. He is also the Director of Clinical Vascular Research and of the Vascular Lab at the same institution.

He is a graduate of the School of Medicine at the Republic University in Montevideo, Uruguay. He completed a 5-year Residency in Surgery at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, and a Cardiovascular Surgery Fellowship at Methodist Hospital-Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Criado has long been recognized as a pioneer in endovascular therapy and aortic stent-graft technology. He is the author of more than 100 scientific publications, numerous book chapters and editor-author of several books. He is a frequently invited lecturer at most major vascular and endovascular events in the USA and around the world.

Alan Dardik, M.D., Ph.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Alan Dardik is Assistant Professor of Vascular Surgery at Yale University School of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Dardik is Director of the Non-invasive Vascular Laboratory and the Director of Surgical Research at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System.

Dr. Dardik received a Bachelor of Science degree and graduated summa cum laude from Yale University. He received his Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed his surgical residency, his research fellowship and his vascular surgery fellowship at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Dardik has received the Franklin Martin Faculty Research Fellowship from the American College of Surgeons, the E.J. Wylie Traveling Fellowship from the Lifeline Foundation, and was named the Wylie Scholar in Academic Vascular Surgery by the Pacific Vascular Research Foundation. He has also received the William J. von Liebig Vascular Academic Award from the Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society.

Dr. Dardik has been the recipient of several basic science and vascular research grants. He has extensive journal article publishing experience and is a reviewer for the Journal of Vascular Surgery, Annals of Vascular Surgery and the American Journal of Pathology. He has been an invited lecturer to many regional and national vascular conventions.

Herbert Dardik, MD, F.A.C.S.
Dr. Herbert Dardik is Chief of the Department of Surgery at Englewood Hospital in New Jersey as well as Chief of Englewood's Vascular Surgical Service. He is also a Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.

He is a graduate, magna cum laude, of New York University and New York University School of Medicine where he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree. He completed his surgical residency at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center in New York.

A prolific writer on vascular disease with over 400 journal articles, Dr. Dardik has traveled the globe giving lectures at virtually every major vascular congress.

William D. Jordan, MD, F.A.C.S.
Dr. Jordan is Associate Professor of Surgery and Chief, Section of Vascular Surgery, University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is also an attending surgeon at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital, and Director of the Vascular Laboratory at The Kirklin Clinic.

Dr. Jordan is a graduate of Hillsdale College where he received a Bachelor of Science degree magna cum laude and a graduate of Emory University School of Medicine where he received a Doctor of Medicine degree. Dr. Jordan completed his general surgery residency at University of Alabama Medical Center in Birmingham and a vascular surgery fellowship at Emory University Hospital.

He is the author of numerous papers on vascular surgery and basic vascular research as well as books on vascular surgery. He is a frequently invited lecturer in vascular surgery at local, regional, national and international conventions.

Steven Anthony Kagan, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Kagan is a vascular surgeon on staff at Rex Hospital and Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. He is a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery and the Society for Interventional Radiology.

Dr. Kagan received his Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from Tufts University and his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Massachusetts. He has received several academic awards, including the Hewlett Packard Award for Academic Excellence at the University of Massachusetts.

Dr. Kagan completed his general surgical residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital and a vascular surgery fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. He has twice received the Wallace P. Ritchie Award for Teaching Excellence at Temple University, has published many articles in peer-reviewed journals, and has contributed chapters to several vascular surgery textbooks.

John D. Martin, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Martin is the Director of the Vascular Institute at Anne Arundel Medical Center, Annapolis, MD and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University for the Health Sciences, Bethesda, MD.

Dr. Martin graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio and received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas TX. He also completed his residency and his vascular fellowship at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

He has published a number of vascular articles in peer reviewed journals. He is also one of the founders, and is currently a Director, of the Dare to C.A.R.E Foundation. Started in 2000, Dare to C.A.R.E is a program that offers community lectures, education and free screenings for cardiovascular disease. Lastly, Dr. Martin is widely considered to be one of the nation's leading experts in the remote endarterectomy procedure. His early work with Dr. Moll and others has lead to the procedure, and product line, existing as it does today.

Thomas C. Naslund, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Naslund is Chief of Vascular Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center as well the Medical Director of the Vascular Laboratory at Vanderbilt. He is Associate Professor of Surgery at Vanderbilt and the winner of the Harwell Wilson Award for Surgical Excellence. He is also the Program Director in Vascular Surgery at Vanderbilt Medical Center.

Dr. Naslund received a Bachelor of Science degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas and his Doctor of Medicine degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at Vanderbilt Medical Center and a vascular surgery fellowship at Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans.
Dr. Naslund has extensive journal article publishing experience, as well as a number of book chapters in vascular surgery to his credit. He has been an invited speaker at numerous local, regional and national vascular congresses.

Virginia S. Newman, M.D
Dr. Newman is a vascular surgeon on staff at Saint Anthony Memorial Hospital, Michigan City, IN.

Dr. Newman received her Bachelor of Science degree from Harvard University and her Doctor of Medicine Degree from Cornell Medical College.

Dr. Newman completed her general surgery residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, TX and her vascular surgery fellowship at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. She is inventor on a patent for a novel intravascular stent design.
